| Long Abstract: |
Catholic leaders in Kenya have expressed disgust over claims by a millionaire and self-proclaimed "archbishop," Gilbert Deya, that he has produced "miracle babies." Deya, a London-based evangelist who is originally from Kenya, has claimed that he has enabled women to give birth to children, even when they are infertile or beyond child-bearing age. "There is no doubt we are fulfilling the scriptures of our generation," he claimed. But Church leaders have cautioned against the claim of miracles, and police-- both in Kenya and in Britain-- are exploring a more sinister explanation for the "miracle babies." |
