| Long Abstract: |
Key United Nations agencies and international and non-governmental organisations announced Thursday a joint action plan to help Vietnam tackle the trafficking of children and child labour. As part of the plan, they will hold a four-day forum in Hanoi from Sunday bringing together 150 children from seven Vietnamese provinces to share their experiences and concerns with policy makers. The initiative is being organised by Save the Children UK, the International Labour Organisation, the United Nations Children Fund, the International Organisation for Migration, and the United Nations Inter-Agency Programme. "Child trafficking and child labour remain serious problems in Southeast Asia," they said in a statement. |
