This implementation handbook explains the background and implications of each article of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, clarifies the objective and scope of each article, considers other related international legislation and provides an implementation checklist for Ratifying States. Of particular relevance to child trafficking are articles 11, 34, 35, 36 and 39 which correspond respectively to: the illicit transfer and non-return of children abroad; the sexual exploitation of children; the prevention of abduction, sale and trafficking; protection from other forms of exploitation; and the rehabilitation of child victims. |
