Long Abstract: This report gives a general introduction to three overlapping aspects of child exploitation: the worst form of child labour, child trafficking and the use of children for commercial sex. Each of these aspects is examined in turn, with discussion of the root causes of the problem as well as an assesment of the scale of the abuse based on latest statistics. Case studies and quotes from young people who have suffered exploitation vividily illustrate some of the horrors behind the sobering facts. The report ends with a description of some of UNICEF's ongoing programmes to combat child exploitation.
