FM RODRÍGUEZ REJECTS OAS REPORT ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Alí Rodríguez Araque Wednesday rejected as biased, influenced and judgmental a report on Venezuela published by the Inter American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), Organization of American States (OAS).
The diplomat claimed that such a report "deceits the good faith of those integrating the Commission." In particular, Rodríguez pointed at "a gentleman who has serious prejudices against Venezuela and President Hugo Chávez and includes flagrant lies (in the report), such as the assertion that civilians are being prosecuted by military courts," the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a press release. "That is not happening in Venezuela."
Rodríguez added that the Venezuelan section of the IACHR report is "full of falseness."
He stressed that the document is intended to harm President Chávez and underscored "a big power has been doing so since Hugo Chávez was a presidential candidate, and has not stopped."
When asked to disclose the source of attacks against Chávez, Rodríguez Araque replied categorically: "You know I am talking about Mr. (George W.) Bush administration."
