| Long Abstract: |
The Indian Coast Guard along with the Indian Navy and Police are trying to locate a fishing trawler said to be packed with Sri Lankan tsunami orphans to be sold to Western couples by child traffickers. According to police the tip-off had come from a worker of an international organisation working for children. The vessel had left Colombo in the first week of this month and it is expected to reach somewhere around Kolkata port today. The Coast Guard has already launched a massive hunt to locate the fishing trawler in the mid-sea in the Bay of Bengal. The Indian Coast Guard has alerted the Kolkata police, Bengal police, intelligence agencies and the Navy vigilance vessels operating in the mid- sea between Sri Lanka and India.
