| Long Abstract: |
The building, comprising three classrooms, two workshops, a conference room, a library, an office and a store, was financed by the Songhor Salt Project as part of its social responsibility towards the community. President Kufuor said a new educational policy being envisaged by the Government was to ensure children remain in school between four to 16 years and provided with quality education at the expense of the State. He deplored the attitude of parents who indulge in child trafficking. "We must prepare the children to mature before we send them out to work on their own. Child trafficking is a breach on the child's right and should be condemned," he said. President Kufuor pledged the Government's commitment to ensure that child trafficking in Ghana was curbed. |
